Leaning Tilda

Hi everyone! I hope you are all having a lovely week so far.

My card today is for this week's Cute Card Thursday. The challenge is a Sketch with a bit of a twist... you have the option of using any current sketch from another challenge, an old Cute Card Thursday sketch.. or design one of your own!

I've gone for the 'design your own' option and drafted up this sketch...(feel free to take it if you want to).

I have also finally inked up my Romantic Window stamp. It was one of those 'must have' purchases that has been sitting in its packaging for months - so BAD! I have masked it with Leaning Tilda and some topiary plants (all Magnolia).

The cute papers are all Magnolia as well from the new Mini papers collection. I just love the smaller size patterns. The inside of the card is also decorated and stamped with another plant for a bit of colour.

Have a great day,
Kylie

Shopping Tilda

After a little bit of reassurance from my watercolouring friends, I've decided to share a card I made over the weekend where I watercoloured the image - OMG - yes - watercoloured!

Most of you know that I am a Copic girl, through and through! I've never been very good at watercolouring, it requires patience :) But sometimes I just want to paint, so on the weekend, that is what I did. I actually painted two images.  This one is Shopping Tilda from the Bon Voyage collection.

Tilda's skin looks a little olive as I painted in Vintage Photo... I only have four DI's so made do with some Stampin Up inks I had in my drawer. I need to get a few more colours of DIs if I want to paint more.  The papers are Prima Annalee (yup, again!).

So yes, something a little different from me today! I'm feeling brave so wanted to share :)
If I get a card done with the other image I've painted  might show you. Its nice to try something a bit different for a change.

Thanks for checking in with me today!

Tilda in Rubber boots

Happy Easter!! I hope the Easter Bunny was good to everyone ;)

I don't have an Easter card to share with you today... oh no... I have a birthday card for a nice change! But I did use two of the Butterfly Dreams stamps for my card :)  There is a new challenge over at Magnolia Down Under challenges today - and this week we have a sketch for you... AND... it is by me! It is the first time one of my sketches have been used for a challenge, so please be nice, hahaha, no, seriously, I would love to see what you do with it.

Yep... I am still on my masking bug. Only two stamps this time though. This is Tilda in Rubber boots masked with the Stonepath. The goreous papers are all Magnolia as well - they are the new mini papers! I just love them. The blue butterflys are so pretty and the two with the cream background and gold print actually look gold in the light, really lovely.

So thanks for stopping by on this lovely Easter Sunday! I hope you have a relaxing day with your family eating loads of chocolate :) Hopefully you'll have time to do a bit of crafting too ;)
Hugs

Windy Tilda in Paris

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you are all enjoying a relaxing weekend with your families. It is nice and sunny here in Canberra, but it is getting chilly... it was only 1 degree this morning when we got up..brrrrrr!

I love this Eiffel Tower stamp (Shabby Chic collection 2008) from Magnolia. I dont'get to use it a lot however. Inking up Windy Tilda (Cosy Autumn collection 2010) was a good opportunity to mask them together though.  These two stamps together bring back good memories from when my Hubby and I visited Paris in the autumn of 2006. We were always getting caught in showers and one night we even had to run back to the hotel from the restaurant in the middle of a big storm, haha, we looked a bit of a sight when we entered the hotel lobby dripping wet.

I've used Magnolia papers as well for my card. The red rose paper is actually from a christmas collection but I thought it looked ok for this card.
All of the panels have been machine stitched and I hand stitched some lace to form the flower behind the red rose.  Tilda and the Eiffel Tower are coloured in Copics. I've also decorated the inside of the card.

So that is it from me today! I will be back tomorrow with something else to share. Thanks for visiting me this Easter long weekend!  Have a great day!

Lost for words...

Hi everyone! Happy "Good Thursday" as I like to call it!  Even though Easter is a little later this year, it still jumped up and surprised me. I raced down to the supermarket this morning to find half the suburb had already beat me to it :)

The challenge this week at Cute Card Thursday is.... No Text!! ohhh... I can see you all thinking easy peasy can't I? hahaha - well, I am sentimentally challenged - I don't use them if I can get away with it ;) So I thought it was going to be simple... but I tell you... the temptation to add a tag with a cute little sentiment to my project was very strong!
My project is a little bag. It has adorable Tilda on the front masked with the Tulip Walkway. I first one of these cute little bags at Rimna's Skafferi and I had to have a go myself. There is a tutorial, it can be found here with a really nice vintage example.

And when opened up this is the inside of the bag... The puppy is "Magnolia", obviously, by Magnolia Stamps, lol, who happens to be a real dog (Caviller King Charles Spaniel I think). I've coloured her to look like my dog, Tara who passed away last year :(

I love that she is standing in the garden with a butterfly. I have a photo of my Tara standing in my parents garden when she was a puppy. So this stamp was one of those "had to haves".

Stamps - Dreamy Tilda - So Heavenly Collection, Tulip Walkway and Magnolia - Butterfly Dreams Collection.
Doo Hickey die - Old Swedish lace
Well, thanks so much for visiting me today! And sorry for the long post :)
Happy Easter to you all,
Hugs Kylie xx

Tilda with Lace Jeans sets the scene

Happy Tuesday everyone!  I hope everyone had wonderful relaxing weekend.
I spent the weekend playing with this step card. I've had several attempts at these cards and I never finish them for some reason. I've had these gorgeous Magnolia mini papers sitting on my desk awaiting a bit of attention as well so it was time to do something about both :)

I've masked a scene with Tilda sitting on her little swing. There are five different stamps used for the scene, one of them being used twice. I've also used a Doo Hickey die and my MS Butterfly punch. The flowers are a mix of Petaloo and Wild Orchid Crafts.

Magnolia stamps/products used on my card are:
Tilda with Lace Jeans - Butterfly Dreams Collection 2011
Swing -Summer 2008
Heart Fence - (collection tba)
Love Lantern with Vine - Wedding collection 2010
Plant - Summer and Sea 2008
Happy Birthday Sentiment - Cosy Family 2010
Doo Hickey die - Antique lace
Mini Paper - Lilac butterfly
Have a great day!

Magnolia Down Under Challenges #92

Only one week to go until the Easter Bunny visits! So over at Magnolia Down Under Challenges this week our challenge comes as no surprise ;) Yup, we're lookin' for Easter themed creations!

I've been getting into shaped cards quite a bit recently so thought I'd make another egg shaped card. I've used the cute "Tilda Holding Egg Basket" from the Butterfly Dreams collection and the Magnolia Tree from the Hoppy Easter collection, I just adore this tree! I have also used the cute little Magnolia birdie (sorry, I can't recall what collection it is from).

I have had a bit of a play with my punch for the edge and some Doo Hickey dies for one lace flower and Lovely Fence. There is a paper doily hiding in behind the images as well. While rummaging around my drawer I came across a sheet of gold German Scrap corners, so decided to add one of those as well :)

Everything is stitched and the images are coloured with Copics. The inside of the card is decorated to with the same gorgeous Prima "Annalee" papers.

The gorgeous girls over at MDUC have really created some amazing cards to share with you this week so please pop over and check out their work.

I would love to enter this card into these challenges:

Thanks for visiting me and have a great weekend!

That is one HUGE butterfly!

Good morning everyone!

I started cleaning up my desk over the past few days... started anyway - such a huge mess and I keep getting sidetracked. I don't have a great deal of space, but I do have a great deal of 'stuff'. Over the past few weeks I had been colouring up cute little things here and there and they've not reached any cards :) So during my clean up I came across this cute new "Large Butterfly" from the Magnolia Butterfly Dreams collection. It was one of those 'had to have' stamps in this collection. And I had also attempted to fold a "Napkin card" a few weeks ago (tutorial can be found HERE), so last night I decided the butterfly just HAD to go on the Napkin card.

This is what it looks like closed..... I didn't have the right punch around the page set for the card, so I made do with the "Swirling Lace" set I had. I've got the "Cherish" and "Eyelet lace" sets on my wish list but just haven't managed to get them yet.

I had considered matting all the DP, but am glad I didn't as it probably wouldnt have closed :) The papers are Prima "Jack and Jill".

The band wraps right around the back to tie at the side.

Hahaha, and here is my attempt at getting a decent photo of the sparkle :)
The gorgeous lace is heirloom eyelet lace I found at a craft store yesterday while shopping with my sister.

All the DP is inked in Walnut stain and the white cardstock is inked with Antique Linen. The butterfly is stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa and coloured with Copics.
Thanks for checking out my Napkin fold card! It was heaps of fun to make.
Have a great day!

Tilda with Daffodil

This cute Tilda is for Magnolia Down Under Challenges #91 - No patterned paper, make your own! Hahaha, yes, we are not tricking you, and yes, it can be done! You should see my clever teamies have done over at the MDUC blog - OMGosh! I went with the easy option and I embossed. There is also some corrugated cardboard there that I've put a bit of distress crackle paint on, a page out of a book (not mine, my hubby's hahaha) and a paper doily... ok, not soooo imaginative :) But there are numberous options out there for you to try, emboss resist, stamping your own, the list is pretty endless.

I have masked the adorable "Tilda with daffodil" from the Butterfly Dreams collection onto the "Spring Fence" from the Hoppy Eater collection and coloured them both with Copics. I've also had my first attempt at colouring with Prisma pencils and the blue haze in the background and the shaddows are coloured with Prismas. I've got quite a bit of practice yet, but they are fun and something I can see myself becoming addicted to!
Have a great day!

Tulip Wheelbarrow

Good morning everyone :)  How is your weekend going? I have had a great weekend so far. Yesterday we took the boys down to visit with my parents for the day. We went to the Zoo first of all with Grandma and Poppy and they had a ball, then on to my parents 'farm' for lunch and a play. The boys were exhausted by the time we had to pile into the car to come home, but they had such a blast - and so did we! I think Grandma and Poppy did too :) Today we are expecting a visit from my sister and otherwise a quiet day. Maybe there is a bit of a chance to sit and colour ;)

Anyway, my card today is for the current Magnolia Down Under Challenge! We are up to week 90 already, gosh, how time flies! This week we are looking for.... HEAVY METAL!

I haven't used any Tilda or Edwin for my card! Oh my! What am I thinking? hahaha. But I did use the gorgeous new accessory stamp from the Spring club "Tulip Wheelbarrow" and also part of the Happy Easter sentiment. I just inked up the section I wanted to put in my little silver frame.

Everything is, of course, coloured with Copics. The papers are Prima "Annalee" - nope, I am not sick of them yet :) The cardstock is American Crafts white and it is all stitched on the sewing machine. The silver photo corner and photo tab things (technical term, lol) are from Kraft Outlet. The silver sentiment frame is SU. Flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts.  I have hand stitched some blue acrylic beads onto the blue gingham ribbon as well. I've had these sitting in a container for some time and I acidentally knocked it over while I was making the card and had a little flash of an idea. Just something a little bit different :)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
